An explosion in Germany kills 1, injures 10

July 24, 2016 • 6:56 pm

This is the third such event I’ve reported on in the last day, and the second in Germany. All I know is what my CNN news feed tells me:

An explosion occurred in Ansbach, Germany, Sunday evening, according to German media.

At least one person is dead and as many as 10 others are wounded, German media is reporting.

      1. Actually, the remaining reports seems to place it as an insanity deed.

It is, like the machete killer, now claimed to be a person with no known connections to Daesh. [ https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2016/jul/25/ansbach-explosion-german-town-deliberate-blast-latest ]

But he was a rejected Syrian asylum seeker with a history of making attempts on his life, and used a self demolition device. [Ibid.]

So like the machete killer it looks like the inspiration to the means came from religious terrorism. Not the right wing terrorism like the MacDonald shooter.

        This week in Germany:

        Religious terrorism – right wing terrorism 3 – 1 ?

Meanwhile the stupid ID border controls stranded 1,000 Swedes as they left Beyonce’s Danish concert.

        This week in Sweden:

        Religious terrorism – right wing terrorism 1 – 0.

        1. I don’t think it was a commentary on people blaming refugees. Frank Bath was actively blaming refugees.

P.S. The BBC confirms that the bomber was a Syrian refugee.

        2. This attempted ‘asylum seeker’ was denied, but permitted to given temporary leave to remain in Germany because of the war in Syria.

I would suspect that he was denied access to the festival because he refused the security checks and detonated the bomb.

Now then, what part is confusing you?

Or do you not believe that that a failed asylum seeker who is carrying a bomb in a rucsac and who detonates it to cause maximum carnage is a terrorist, and therefore a barbarian?

  1. BBC confirms him to be another Syrian refugee.

Again, I say it’s playing right into the hands of the far right in Germany, all over Europe, and I’ll bet it’ll be big here in the future Trumplandia.

People WILL blame refugees. More than they have before. The left, of course, will attempt to say it is a mistake to turn them away, remind us of the refugee crisis of WWI, WWII, but those arguments will mean less and less after each attack.

  2. This is becoming quite depressing. 🙁

    It’s going to feed Trump’s anti-immigrant politics.

And I have a question: If they are not tied to terrorist organizations, where do they learn to make such a bomb and how do they get the ingredients? Or is all that available on the internet?

    1. of course it must be its just we’re biased and racist in only remembering instances where its been used by Islamists. That said we don’t know (or i haven’t seen) further details on this as to what the perpetrators motives were.

    2. From what we are seeing, Trump isn’t that wrong on the immigration issue. If other aspiring tenants of the White House had promised control of immigration, particularly Muslim immigration, fewer voters would flock behind Trump. The more I hear about this gentleman, the less I like him. I also think he will renege on his promise, because he is a habitual liar. But I cannot blame US voters who wish to use any chance to avoid the fate of Europe.

  3. I just returned Saturday from two weeks in Bad Mergentheim, Germany. Bad Mergentheim lies between Würzburg and Ansbach. While there, a music rock concert was held in the schloss. All entering the concert were funneled through four turnstiles and backpacks were prohibited. Security was very high. This was mostly likely the same in Ansbach. Inside the venue, large sign marked the panic exits and funneled people, if necessary, away from the area. I can only assume that it was the same in Ansbach and that is why the bomber was not permitted entry.
