Did you spot the frog in the photo by Bob Woolley this morning? I’ll put the original photo up first, and then the reveal:
When I asked Robert how he saw it in the first place, he responded this way:
I saw the frog only because it was at the surface as I approached, but quickly dived down into the mud before I could see any detail, so the movement caught my eye. If I had happened on the scene as you see it in the pictures, I never would have noticed it.

I missed the spot-the-frog post — was too late and ended seeing the answer. But this is very good. Neat!
I didn’t see a thing. That was a tough one.
I found it. I’d characterize this one as moderately-difficult. That’s because, from the description, I wasn’t expecting to be able to see the entire frog and was pleasantly surprised when I came across it. I didn’t time myself, but I’d guess that it took me about 5-7 minutes to find the little critter.
My method: downloaded the full-sized version of the image. Opened it in my favorite image-viewing program (IrfanView). Zoomed in until the full-screen view covered about 1/3rd of the width of the image. Started a serpentine scan from the top left corner until I came across the target, in the 3rd and final pass.

The one circled looks like a toad, but down to the right at about 4:30 is a green head protruding beside a leaf?? A frog or snake?
That’s some sort of seed pod thing. Definitely plant, not animal.
I definitely need my own eye surgery — I still can’t make it out!
