I am alive

November 3, 2020 • 8:24 pm

I’m writing this while groggy, and my operation was considerably delayed because the surgeon had a complicated operation before me. They used the robot on me and all is well: I have three holes punched in my belly again and my nether parts are shaved–apparently when I was under.

Time for some soup.

Duck feeding tomorrow! (every other day, and only one time)

Thanks to the readers who sent me well wishes. Posting will be light tomorrow but will resume on Thursday, or so I hope. More important, I hope Biden wins. I have no news

  1. I’m glad you’re well! I’ve had a very difficult time in hospital myself, and I know the horrors and fears of operations. But you’ve pulled through! And I’m very, very happy. (Yes, I’m a little sozzled in Scotland right now, and am watching the election with some friends, including an Ohio-born anti-Trump leftist from a very pro-Trump town!).

I hope, hope, hope that decency will win tonight. Defend the secular, democratic, republic that is America, please!

  2. Congrats. Now, if you had not survived, we would all be very sorry, but life would go on. 🤥

    Glad you’re back on line.

  3. Great to hear that all went well. You’ll be back in fighting trim before you know it!

  4. Glad to hear you’ve surfaced. Time for some soup, yes, just not duck soup. But you could watch the movie while slurping your soup. A nutty classic political comedy is just the thing to watch while groggy from anesthesia,as a way to ease back into the full-blown nutty horror of the present moment. No farce, this; even if it is reality TV.

  5. … and my nether parts are shaved–apparently when I was under.

No worries, man. We WEIT commenters aren’t into kink-shaming.

Maybe you should add that to Da Roolz.

  6. Thanks for posting the news. I am glad the surgery went well. Didn’t see many ducks on Botany Pond today.

  7. Yeah, I had a left hernia repair December 16th of last year and it is still a bit uncomfortable even now, so you must have a real healing process to go through. Good luck, take it easy and don’t exert yourself for a while!

  8. Glad it all w3ent well with the surgery. Take your time to get back up to speed. And don’t overdo it with the ducks!

  9. Best wishes, Jerry.

Having experienced an operation on the nether regions myself a while back, I know how challenging and serious they can be.

  10. So very pleased to hear the op went well.

After a similar op, I was advised to be careful with any lifting.

  11. That’s about the only good news I’ve heard in the last day or so – very best wishes!

  12. Excellent news, Jerry. To stay well do not switch on tv, radio or need on any electrical device.
    All the best.
    Ron.

  13. Good to hear the op went well, hope your recovery is quick and as comfortable as possible.
Never know what, if any, news sources can be trusted but election news I have seen is worrying. It is not just America that needs Biden, a win for the other thing will be the sort of news our prize prat in Downing Street will love.

  14. Glad that your dreaded operation is out of the way! Please take it easy while your body adjusts and decides how it feels about what just happened to it.

  15. I was very pleased to hear of the positive outcome from your surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery!

  16. So glad to hear all went well! Please try to take things easy now if you can, for a while. No lifting stuff heavier than a latte. Take care, be well soon.
