“The Bourne Identity,” a 2002 film in which Matt Damon plays an intelligence operative who’s lost most of his memory, is one of the few thrillers I’ve ever watched. (I liked it.) If you didn’t see it, or don’t remember the plot, you can review it here.
But you don’t really have to know the plot to enjoy this 13-minute film produced by Brian Keith Dalton, aka “Mr. Deity”. It’s an engrossing piece that not only highlights the inanity of faith, but has a surprise ending.
It stars Dalton, Scott Clifton (soap star and three-time Emmy winner), and Amy Rohren, who used to be “Lucy” (Satan) in the Mr. Deity movies. Great production and a stimulating message: kudos to Dalton et al.!

Very good!
Agreed 😀
Ahh!! The last line was cute!
I like the word play when Bourne calls them and the man says to Pam, “it’s Bourne (born) again.”
Love the reference to Scott Clifton’s YouTube identity: “TheoreticalBullshit”. He’s an amateur philosopher and does good anti-apologetics for the layperson. Great guy.

Dalton should have put Clifton’s aka TheoreticalBullshit name in the title. It would have gotten him significantly more views. Anyone who hasn’t seen Clifton channel really should check it out. he’s one of the most intelligent, and well spoken atheists on YouTube. He hasn’t done much recently but he’s done many great video’s in the past.
+1
Loved his videos, particularly his taking apart the ontological argument.
Hilarious! Love the last line.
Loved it! Especially the last line.
That was really great!
Very well done, both plot and production.
Loved it.
a worthy successor to the classic “kissing hank’s @ss”.
That pun has already been well used. Anyone running Linux who opens a ‘terminal (text) window’ is probably using the Bash shell – Bash standing for ‘Bourne Again Shell’.
(A free/open source drop-in replacement for the original Unix Bourne Shell).

P.S. The ‘Bourne’ films were damn good. Exciting and convincing.
On the strength of it I bought the original Ludlum books and couldn’t get through the first ten pages – far too much quite irrelevant and distracting detail that suggested the author could have used a good (i.e. savage) editor.

Yeah, it took me weeks to get through the first book. A book of that length that pulls me in I will kill over a single weekend, but TBI I kept putting down for days and forcing myself to pick back up. I still liked it, but you are right that it could’ve used a good bit of cutting.
And the Bourne shell was created by British computer scientist Steve Bourne as one of his many contributions to the Unix operating system when he worked at Bell Labs.
I rather thought that the “bsh / bash” joke pre-dated the Bourne movies. Then again, I don’t know when the Bourne books were written, so that might not be relevant.
Book 1980 ; film 1988 ; BASH Shell 1989 ; Damon series of films 200+several. Bloody re-makes confusing time lines.
I’m pretty sure it did pre-date the Bourne movies. It was a pun based on ‘born again’, of course.
*nix hackers are addicted to that sort of humour – I still use ‘less’ (which is an enhancement of the ‘more’ command) for viewing text files.

As they say in Intercal, PLEASE COME FROM?
Dalton does it again.
Wow how long before he takes Hollywood. This one has “big shot producer” written all over it. Then again if youtube overtakes Hollywood he doesn’t need to go anywhere haha.
Loved it – well made, funny, and on the money with its taking apart of religion. Like the original Bourne films, let’s hope we get some sequels.
