二つの同じ箱とまる。Two same boxes and Maru.

What a cruel thing Maru’s owner, mugumogu, has done to him! As we all know, Maru loves to climb into Too Small Boxes, even when he can’t even fit in them. But what happens when he’s forced to choose between TWO Too Small Boxes? Does he choose the smallest one?

You won’t believe what he does! (Yes, you will; it’s just clickbait.)

  1. That cat has the twitchiest tail (and I’m not referring to the speeded-up part of the video).

    1. The tail is tracing out the interference pattern of the two-box-one-(collimated)-cat experiment.

  2. Well, it’s clear that she is Schrödinger’s cat, looking for the superposition of two quantum states.

    1. I have read, (long time ago) that it is a reflection of the cat being uncertain.

Having said that how this was ascertained I don’t know.

  3. Maru’s switching tail showed her annoyance at being presented with an insoluble challenge. Underscored by her looking directly at the cameraman – “What is this fresh hell you have consigned me to??”

      1. Also anger. I’ve seen cats facing each other, hissing, and fiercely wagging their tails. Just the opposite of dogs

  4. Has anyone figured out why cats love boxes? It doesn’t look like they are using them to hide, or attempting to find prey.

      1. That’s logical. I must say, however, the small boxes to not look like a safe or comfortable place to sleep. But, I think the key is that cats in the wild would not find boxes but would find small holes and corners. Domestic cats make use of a different set of choices – to our great amusement.
