I caught two mating in my pond a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought they were fighting. then I went and fed my horses and came back. They were mating. Sadly, I had no recording devices.
We see this most springs in the pond directly behind our house. Huge (“Yuge!”) ones. Shells at least 24 inches long.
Double down on snapping turtle. We see them swimming all the time!
