At 2:30 Central time (1:30 Eastern time; 8:30 London time), President Obama will be speaking at the University of Chicago Law School about the Supreme Court. We just got a link from the University News office, so if you click on the video below at that time, you’ll get to hear Obama’s talk. He’ll certainly address the Republican refusal to even consider his nominee.

Isn’t 1:30 Eastern time now? I clicked on it and it stated that the stream will begin in two hours. Is this one of those “how to keep a moron in suspense” jokes?
[edit] Okay, I should have used Central Time…that one is correct.
3:30 Easter Time, 1:30 Mountain Time.
What is it in Christmas Time?
It’s telling me it will start in 34 minutes. I am at utc+2 (dst) and it’s 20:54
Thank God they’re refusing to consider his nominee. Merrick Garland is a largely right-wing jurist. Republicans have previously said that Garland would be the best possible nominee they could hope for from a Democrat.
He was chosen because he 90% agrees with Republicans, which makes them look bad when they refuse to consider him. That’s not clever. It’s a disaster!
Thank you, Republicans. Keep blocking him, and give us a chance to get a real progressive on the court instead.
