I’m back in Chicago after a fine weekend. But now it’s time to write book talks for The Albatross which, one month from today, will be in fine bookstores everywhere. Meanwhile in Dobrazyn, The Princess of Poland has begun climbing again:
Hili: I’m a cat with my head in the clouds.
A: There are no clouds today.
Hili: This was a metaphor.
In Polish:
Hili: Jestem kotem z głową w chmurach.
Ja: Nie ma dziś chmur.
Hili: To jest metafora.

Is that an apple tree?
Nifty bit of climbing – would love to see the descent!
Was thinking the same. Oh to have a few Margay genes in such a situation.
Yes, it is an apple tree.
The Lord High Cat of her realm!
Beware the famished soaring Albatross Hili…
Surveying her Domain and her Subjects (human) of course.
Wow, I’m surprised that she goes all the way up, even on top of the poky twigs. She must be making sure everything is in order and that it’s safe.
I love seeing Hili every morning in her personal feline paradise. I suspect that’s partly because I get to experience it vicariously. All may not be right with the world in general, but Hili’s world is a little bubble where, generally, things are just fine.
Thanks to Andrzej, Malgorzata, and Professor Ceiling Cat for sharing Hili with us!

Ditto. I’d like to add Cyrus, as the great feline protector.
Sorry, didn’t mean to forget Cyrus. Cats rock, but d*gs are cool – Cyrus especially so.
+1
She also has a pretty good command of the Polish language. Smart cat.
She’s apparently multi-lingual, able to speak Polish, Catish, and PCCish.
Pretty sophisticated language skills at that. I didn’t know cats were big on metaphors… 😀
