The Dog Days are over

Jerry’s on a roll with the issuing orders thing today, and it must have been a pretty good day considering the subject of this post and our esteemed host’s usual (dis)regard for them.

It is admittedly hilarious.

  1. Haha that is pretty scary. My dog would nudge and lick your face until you felt like you were being water boarded.

  2. It’s like a Persian cat in that it’s a disturbing combination of stuffed animal and angry old man.

  3. When my cat get hungry and I’m in a prone position, he’ll jump on my chest and start kneading — with his very sharp claws digging into my skin!

  4. My Chihuahua is the first d*g I’ve had that can walk around on its hind legs like that, for any length of time. It’s seriously creepy when she follows me out into the pantry/utility room (where the treats are kept on a shelf) on two legs – kind of reminds of Ren, from the cartoon “Ren and Stimpy.”

    1. Ha! Just this past Saturday morning I introduced my kids to Ren & Stimpy. I couldn’t take any more Sponge Bob at that moment.

Their verdict? “That’s STUPID! Stimpy talks to his booger collection and they talk back! He thinks his fart is a living thing and he misses it so much he goes looking for it!”

I said, “Of course it is, it’s supposed to be. What, Sponge Bob isn’t stupid?”

Funny thing is, when I watched the show way back when I never knew what kind of creatures they were supposed to be. This weekend we watched what was, I think, the first ever episode and I learned after all these years that Ren is a dog, and Stimpy is a CAT!

  5. Barking up the wrong phone.

“Now the whole neighborhood will know what a stuffed animal you are!”

  6. Holy heck, I know that guy… So he came back as a dog? Good one. That’s exactly how he used to look when the cops were going through his pick up looking for weed.

  7. Priceless!

When the kids were young we also had a ton of pets of all sorts…at one point my husband was feeding the goats & dog, which still left the tarantulas, tortoises, FW & SW fish, chickens, and what-all for the kids & me to juggle.

Once when H was travelling I was feeling pretty good about myself for being on top of things, when I noticed that our large black lab was acting especially clingy. Suddenly I realized she hadn’t been fed in a day and a half!

      1. Yes…there are so many cool species…it can be hard to stop acquiring “slings”–spiderlings.
