LOL – are ferrets closer to dogs or to cats?
I’d say they are in a fox-to-cat spectrum in terms of cuteness, so arguably not that dog-ish of a post.

So, ferrets and dogs share a common ancestor that’s more recent than their shared common ancestor with cats.
