Did you spot the viper in this morning’s post? Here it is, circled, and below this photo there’s an enlargement. It surely is well camouflaged!

… there’s some leaves that look like a tan head with an eye poking up out in the foreground… between a black stick and a sort of tan stick
I was right! But the question is, how on earth did Stephen Warren see it?
I’d like to say it was my great eyesight – but actually it scuttled across our path and we saw where it went!
Thx. Sorta suspected something like that. Friends in Sweden’s dog was bitten in the face by a viper of some sort out at their summer place and had a terrible reaction but survived thanks to veterinary attention.
Ok, got it. I certainly enjoy the wildlife posts.
I’ve had two encounters with Russell’s vipers. In one the viper was hidden in crevice and I kept my distance. In the other the chap was in the open in my back garden. I’m afraid of snakes.
