Jesus ‘n’ Mo ‘n’ stupidity

Today’s Jesus and Mo strip, called “lots”, came with a free email offer: a link to a free pdf of the latest collection published last December, with the introduction by none other than Professor Ceiling Cat (Emeritus). I can’t give out the pdf link as it’s for email subscribers only, but you can subscribe for free, getting just one weekly email with the link to the lates cartoon (go here to enter your email address).

In today’s strip, the barmaid gives the Divine Duo an ambiguous evaluation.

  1. Maybe there should be a corollary to Clarke’s third law: any sufficiently jejune theology is indistinguishable from stupidity.

  2. I’ll stick with Forrest Gump on this one. Stupid is as stupid does. (I use the analogous definition for racism, too – apropos of some other topics. )

  3. It’s like Steven Weinberg said, for good, well-meaning people to do evil on a large scale takes religion (or, I would amend, its equivalent). Or, as Sam Harris always says, it’s not bad people that are the biggest problem, it’s bad ideas.
