Because penguins, and because if I put some of these up before, it was in degraded versions. These are from Cuverville Island off the Antarctic Peninsula.

Can certainly tell which way the wind is blowing in that last photo.
Lovely. In the last photo, I love the one lone gentoo “howling at the moon”.
Yes, they seem to always (or almost always) lie down with their butts to the wind. Also, I didn’t notice that male displaying until I just put up this photo.
It’s like a where’s Waldo in penguin form. heh.
I enjoy all the penguin photos and videos and now I can identify about five different types. I especially like the gentoos with their orange beaks and white eyebrows.
I think that first photo would make an awesome painting. My brother is a oil painting artist. I’m going to see if he’ll paint that beautiful composition.
All the photos from your Antarctica trip were great. It is hard to say which penguins are my favorite. The rockhoppers were the most surprising but the chinstrap have a lot of charm. Thanks for sharing.
Cool!
I’ve really enjoyed your photos and narratives of your Antarctica trip, Jerry. Many thanks! What’s next on your bucket list?
