Don’t forget to send me in your good photos. Please make sure everything’s in focus and the animals aren’t hard to see.
It’s Bafftime for Beasts! Today we have two sets of photos by Reese Vaughan. Squirrels (yes, they’re wildlife) first:
In Texas, in August, enjoying the new birdbath/fountain.
Then a female Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) has her ablutions:

The squirrel is sure having a bad hair day.
Very nice!
Cute pictures. I hope there aren’t any loose cats around.
Oftentimes birds prefer water features on the ground. I think the birds & squirrels will be fine as long as there’s no cover (vegetation, etc.) capable of concealing a cat within striking distance.
We have a fountain in the front yard, but I never turn it on…or fill it with water for that matter. Your photos inspire me to get it working; I never really thought about it attracting wildlife.
How refreshing!
Nice water feature, Reese! Did you design it yourself?
Nice visit… do come again, thanks.
