This did not end very well for anyone involved.
In Housekeeping this morning, I haven’t heard from Jerry yet so I suspect he is either partied out or without internet. Either way I am sure he will catch up with us as soon as he can.
Checking in with Poland, our four-footed friends are very existentialist this morning.

Leon on the other hand is eschewing Epicureanism in as much as anyone can claim that eating plain salmon is a sign of Stoicism and a modest diet.

I notice with applause the trash-picker-upper in the upper right of Hili and Cyrus’s image. Our road is well covered this spring with blossoms now, made of soggy wrappers and paper cups – evidence of the traffic in fast food families and their young.
One of the joys of the snow melt in Canada, the neighbourly debris of uncollected fliers, carelessly placed recycle,discarded poop bags and of course in common with you, the fast food junk, oh and I forgot the beer cans and bottles and they are worth something for the refund. Wonderful isn’t it?
Just taking out the garbage this morning. Having a highway put though your property is also quite pleasant with the additional insult of bringing the added road liter.
I’ve known people who can’t sleep at night it it’s too quiet. They prefer drifting off to the sounds of whizzing tires and grinding gears. “I love the smell of [exhaust fumes] in the morning.”
Sounds like some truckers or maybe just a nascar follower?
There have been so many comparisons of Trump to Hitler that Godwin’s Law has been repealed.
Saw on the news yesterday that Trump has started using the slogan popularized by that old crypto-fascist Father Charles Coughlin, “America First.” The goosestep toward the GOP convention in Cleveland continues.
You can drop the crypto – Coughlin was a straight up fascist. Fascism in Europe was primarily a Catholic movement. Nazi Germany was late to the game.
Large numbers of Germans *are* Catholic, though some aspects of Nazism are as if it were another branch of the Christian tree. After all, one has to be ecumenical in the right way …

Me, too. I had to check, when I realized that my memory of yesterday was pretty fuzzy. Ah, there’s nothing like a reminder that you’ve crested your hill and are descending into the valley of senescence first thing in the morning.

How does the future look?
It’s a lovely day! The sun is shining in a clear blue sky, the birds are singing, and I managed to get out of bed before the alarm went off.
The Rheinland was not reoccupied – it still was part of Germany – it was re-militarized.
It had been occupied by allied forces till 1930 – it helps to read the article.
So, anyone see any good movies lately? I just rented The Martian and thought it pretty well done. A little heavy on the heroism, but it was a good yarn.
I liked the Martian as well.
I recently saw Dead Pool. I thought it was well done and I laughed frequently. It is pretty rude and crude, so YMMV.
Also just recently saw Spotlight. It made me cry in sorrow and frustration. I felt like going down to the nearest Catholic church, a very plush one as it happens, and give the first Father I came across the business.
Yes, I saw Dead Pool as well, and I liked it. I cannot bring myself to see Spotlight, although I readily admit that it is important to have movies that are not just fun and entertainment.
