2. The book was infinitely better than the movie.

   1. I’ll add it to my list to read, in that case. I was just noticing how well it was shot in that ending scene.

      1. I loved the book. Nolte wasn’t bad in the movie, but I thought that Streisand was horrible as the shrink. Maybe she shouldn’t direct herself. I have liked her in other movies.

   2. I thought the film was miserable… not a book I would wish to read.

   Personally, I think Barbra did her best work opposite Ryan O’Neill.

Funny you should mention that: I thought about The Way We Were, and also Hello, Dolly! which I haven’t seen in years but I remember her being so good and the chemistry with the leading man so strong. But I fell in love with the screwball comedy Barbra: I really do think she is most entertaining and frankly sexiest in those wacky films.
