Hili: Are there any cookbooks for cats?
A: I don’t know, but I do not think so.
Hili: Strange, I have an impression that cookbooks are only books that still sell well these days.
In Polish:
Hili: Czy są jakieś książki kucharskie dla kotów?
Ja: Nie wiem, ale nie sądzę.
Hili: To dziwne, mam wrażenie, że książki kucharskie to ostatnie książki, które się jeszcze dobrze sprzedają.
There are too Hili!

I recall a cartoon book some years ago … where’s Amazon when you need it, oh yes, lost in corporate bloat … “101 uses of a dead cat” by Simon Bond (ISBN-10: 0517545160), 1981 (there have been editions since). It may be 30 years since I read it, but I’m pretty sure that cookery for (or with) cats was covered. And probably a number of other uses of a dead cat for kitchen equipment.
Hili, cover your eyes!
Hili, cover Cyrus’ eyes!
(Reminds me of the skinny-dipping Don’s joke.)
Cover your face, right?
That’s the one. “Around here, I’m better known by my face.” Words to that effect. The rest of the details can be fitted to local rivalries.
😉
Cookbooks for cats? “To Serve Felines”, a la The Twilight Zone? Hili needs to watch how he asks those questions. 😉
Indeed — perhaps this was a mistranslation, and she was asking about a cookbook for d*gs, especially large black ones with stumpy tails?

The bigger point about the publishing industry is not lost, alas. (Cue paeans to e-books.)
