From Scott Hilbrum’s comic The Argyle Sweater (via reader Mark), we see an outcome neglected in Pascal’s Wager:
It’s not just rodents who should worry. . .
And reader Al sent this cartoon whose point is familiar to all cat owners. I can’t find the source, but perhaps some reader can name the artist and post a link.

The second one is from “Rhymes with Orange” by Hilary B. Price: the series appears in the San Francisco Chronicle, and I expect many other papers too. Her site is http://www.rhymeswithorange.com; and it’s also available through http://www.comicskingdom.com, which has many other comics.
Good eyes! (I was having trouble making out the signature near the bottom. It looked like Rhymes with image which I couldn’t find on the intarwebz. 🙂 )
“It’s not just rodents who should worry. . .”
I think that is a d*g on the picture.
Oh, I think you’re right. I took it for a rodent too at first, but now I see a dachshund.
Which makes it even funnier. 😀
It would also work if a mouse was sitting on the throne, and the recently deceased was a cat.
I don’t get it, there’s nothing funny about that.
The second one is from Rhymes with Orange by Hilary Price. I would post the url but I am not sure how to do it without embedding it. But just Google the name of the comic to find it. She is ofter very funny and always quirky.
That second one is exellent! I’ve been in that position so many times…
Jerry, what the heck is this? (add an h below!)

Must be a dog fish. I saw it wagging its tail.
I mentioned http://www.comicskingdom.com as one consolidation of comic strips. Another is http://www.gocomics.com, which has a long list including one of my all-time favorites from the 80s and 90s, “Shoe”, which I thought had lapsed with the death of its creator, Jeff MacNelly, but was revived and is currently done by Gary Brookins and Susie MacNelly. Birds, not cats.
OMG, it has Klibans’ Cats. What a flash from the past. “Love to eat them mousies…”
Mousies what I love to eat
lalalalalala
Nibble on their tiny feet (??)
Hadn’t thought of that in years!! (might still have the poster in the basement. Also still have Kliban sheets and pillow cases, but only put on for special guests on the single bed)
I love them little mousies.
Them mousies I love to eat.
Bite they little heads off
and nibble on they tiny feet.
😀
Thanks “awfully”, Mary. I’m not going to able to get that ditty out of my mind!
This might help…
Pimple, dimple, wholesome and simple
Belly, telly, nasty and smelly.
Thanks even more awfully, Stephen:-( never heard that one, so will probably not stick -LOL.)
These were just a few more of Kliban’s masterpieces… I got curious and looked through my ancient collections, actually finding a few of these books in them. Another:
Pencil, Stencil, Good King Wencil.
Model, Waddle, Marquis de Sadle.
(Am slightly amazed at the dearth of Kliban on the web at the moment. A little more amazed that I still have brain cells devoted to this.)
So these are actual Kliban ditties?? I have a little book of his I must look for: kind of 3″X6″ish.
Yep – I think these were in “Don’t Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head” and/or “Luminous Animals”… another:
Machine bun, hair plane, windowsill pie.
Rattle steak, porn flakes, photographs on rye. 😉
I think I have Don’t Eat Anything Bigger than your Head…somewhere…
whoops… not Luminous Animals, but the similarly-sized “Tiny Footprints”
““Don’t Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head” and/or “Luminous Animals”… ”
We’ve still got both those, too. 😀
My cousin just sent me this:

Ha, I still have that exact same t-shirt (in yellow), which my husband gave me sometime when we were still living in Boston–which would be early ’80’s or before…
This has been doing the rounds today. This cat does not like it’s human playing guitar and not giving enough feline attention.
Ha Ha, so funny!
