Inter-species friendship ? Hmmm. Perhaps not. Cats are so very strategic. Clearly the more advanced of the two species above! Hili is setting the good Prof. up as just another provider of food. I have three cats who play me like a violin. In any battle of will-power (give me extra meat this morning, OK!) cats use the same effective techniques that my lovely wife uses; insistent and gentle demands that mess with my male head. My daughter bosses me around the same way. It’s not exactly guilt-inducement, but something far more cunning, far more dangerous. Cats love, and then manipulate, like no other creature on earth. They play vulnerability and smoochiness in turns. What other animal likes to use us as the sofa? When the Bond-villain strokes that white cat, who do you think is really in charge?
One day cat-studies will replace psych at universities. They have advanced skills of seduction. If I could bottle it, I could become President.
