Caturday felids: a gift for the moggie who has everything and a profound cartoon

Talk about Spectacular Cat Present fails, Amazon USA offers, for only $5.79, an inflatable unicorn horn for cats by Accoutrements. The description:

Your cat makes a show of being regal and in control, but you could turn all that around with this Inflatable Unicorn Horn for Cats. It’s a vinyl, 5-1/2″ (14 cm) long unicorn horn with a four-point elastic strap system that holds it comfortably on a kitty’s noggin. Why have just a regular cat, when you could have a uni-cat.

The premise here is that it will demean the cat, and who would want that? I suppose it would appeal to those among us who have a penchant for unicorns and narwhals—obsessions I’ve never understood among skeptics.

Anyway, the accompanying pictures of horn-wearing cats are not a good advertisement for the product!

The Amazon readers have had a high old time with this one; the comments are, as expected, hilarious. Here are just three plucked from the first two pages. Go over and look at some others if you have some spare time and want a laugh:

And a second treat: a very deep cartoon from SMBC:

  1. That cat is going to make the person who put that horn on its head PAY. Forever.

    1. Yep, if I were that cat, I’d go pee in their laundry basket of clean clothes. That’s cat style revenge!

  2. Surely the horn should be placed on the forehead not behind the ears? It just looks like a party-hat there.

  3. What to buy if you are tired of sleeping safely and soundly for the rest of your cat’s life.

    1. for the rest of your cat’s life.

… Which, if the cat has anything to do with it is going to be longer, and much more pleasant than the remainder of your life.
How did Tarantino put it? in the voice of Marcellus … “I’m gonna git Medieval on your ass.”
Though what the donkey has got to do with it, I’m not sure.

  4. Ummm, they look like vibrators. I hate to think of what might happen to the cats while wearing them.

  5. What people think the unicorn horn actually looks like says more about the person, me thinks. 🙂

  6. Sounds like the Ontological Argument for Ceiling Cat: the moggie who has everything and a profound cartoon.

(What’s that link up there at the top of the page? Something about “Sentence structure fail“?)
