A metaphor for what?
I like the name of the fishing boat: Anoesis, “a state of mind consisting of pure sensation or emotion without cognitive content”. Just what you’re looking for when you slip your moorings.

…WEIT versus Pharyngula!?
Shermer vs Pharyngula?
Oh no you didn’t!
Sharp blade of reason slicing through a bunch of suckers?
It’s a cat-a-claws’m.
And you are on that state of mind when you are in that boat.
Thanks. Couldn’t make out the name of the boat, and I didn’t know that “anoesis” was a word.
And not to disappoint Ant, the “a” is the alpha privative that negates noesis which means “cognition, reason”. 🙂
Does that mean my name indicates I’m not a Christian — aNT?
😀

After you learn of the alpha privative, you see it everywhere. It’s a blessing and a curse. You were learn to control it padawan! 😀
Were? Will?
Maybe I’ll need some privative tuition…
