Why Evolution is True is a blog written by Jerry Coyne, centered on evolution and biology but also dealing with diverse topics like politics, culture, and cats.
Hello Jerry coyne ..I have a great video to share .. another cat talking .. how do I share it ?
As I’m not Dr. Coyne this is certain to be at least somewhat disappointing. However, I still hope you find it to be helpful.
The preferred way, I think, is to use html code within the comment box to render a clickable link:
<a href=”put url here”>some word(s) to show link</a>
So, if wanting to link to the WEIT home page you might put the following html code in the comment box:
Link to the great <a href=”http://www.whyevolutionistrue.worpress.com”>WEIT website.</a>
(Note: The quote marks around the URL are also important and need to be added for the link to be rendered correctly.)
When the comment is published it would look like this:
You can enter the URL in the comment box without the “http:” which will keep the link from embedding the video when the comment is published. Embedded videos are a no-no in the comments as per Dr. Coyne’s roolz. For the WEIT home page that would look like this:
You can send the link to Dr. Coyne in an email. He may or may not, at his discretion, make a post about it on the WEIT website. The email address is available at the “Research Interests” link at the top right on any of the website pages. I think, Dr. Coyne might prefer this method when it is a very good topic.
Note that the “http:” in the last link was put in by the rendering engine when the comment was published, when entering the comment I started with the “www”.
