Cat yodeling FTW

January 2, 2013 • 4:09 am

I thought I’d posted on cat yodeling before, but I can’t find such a thing. This one is good, though I suppose some will complain that the animals are being a bit mistreated. Well, the cats do seem slightly ticked, but none were harmed, and it’s a funny piece.

The first part of the video is about something else, so start it at about 1:10. The ending is hilarious.

  1. Please! It was not a polka!!
It was a can-can – this particular one the most popular can-can from Jacques Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld.
It is french dance that has nothing to do with polka, it’s just more energetic and much more scandalous version of galope (galope is balroom dance while can-can is working class dance).
Can-can dancers were the favorite theme of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec paintings and posters.
If you ever danced polka, did you dance it like this?

    1. ROTFL!!!! I noticed that, too!!! Still, you know so much more about dancing than I; where (on the interwebs) can I go to learn more? Do you have a teaching site?

  2. Summer-the-little-stripey-cat said “don’t even think about trying that at home”!

  3. These guys are really stand-up cat lovers and active cat rescuers. See their YouTube channel for more laughs and about an equal amount of cat rescue. I bet the cats love that yodeling attention, too, though they have to pretend otherwise. After all, they have reputations to protect!
