Peregrinations

August 24, 2011 • 1:03 pm

I’m off for vacation in California for about ten days starting tomorrow, so posting will be a tad lighter, though I will have internet access sporadically.  Matthew and Greg may fill in as well, though they’re busy as the school year looms.  Don’t, however, forget to scan your cats: entries are due on the last day of August.

Moar later.

  1. Northern California or Water-Stealing Bizarro Land?

Regardless, have fun. And do please leave the theology behind, mkay?

  2. Oh rats, I thought this was another post about raptors but it’s you announcing a hiatus in posting, that sucks! Oh well have a nice time. Make sure to use plenty of sun screen if you’re on the beach and eat lots of yummy food.

    1. Yeah — clearly, he needs a vacation to recover from all the rigors of photographing historical Russian sites….

But seriously, Jerry: since I forgot to mention it above…if you spend any time in the real California, do me a flavor of finding a Redwood and giving it my love. Say “Hi!” to the Specific Ocean, too….

          1. Could be a number of things, some more intriguing than others . . . but here I think what we would call an asphalted roadway.

          2. Actually, in this case, it was a large playground with an asphalt surface. Think of a parking lot without the cars but with basketball hoops, monkey bars, that sort of thing — but mostly empty space.

I’m sure there isn’t a single one left in the States today; the parents of the first kid to scrape a knee would see to that. Personally, if I had kids, it wouldn’t even occur to me that that’s something a kid needed protecting from…but that’s a rant for another day….

            Cheers,
