For first-time posters

If you’ve never posted here before, I have to approve your first post, which I invariably do unless you look like a creationist, a troll, or a religious zealot.  But I have to check email to do this, and I’m not always around. (I’ll be gone for a bit today, for instance.)  So if you’re a newbie and your post doesn’t show up right away, have patience.
