The Reason Project has announced its annual video contest: make a video. Your video that promotes rationality and/or scientific thinking could win up to ten thousand dollars. (There are three prizes.) Make big bucks and save the world at the same time — how do you beat that?
Reason Project video contest

The Reason Project has a noble goal, and a wildly impressive list of notables on its Advisory Board, but seemingly little content or motivation to produce it. Its anonymous newsfeed and forum are anemic, scattered, and lacking personality. It seems, IMHO, destined to fail (see: The Brights) unless it radically changes direction.
I do not think that a video contest is going to help in the long run.
As a heavy blog consumer, I would love to see The Reason Project evolve into a blog consortium (see: SciBlags) of all its purported advisers. That would attract my attention, and likely my loyalty as well.
