In Poland, Hili is hopeful:

A: Where are you going?
Hili: I’m looking for a tree of knowledge with better news.

In Polish:

Ja: Dokąd idziesz?
Hili: Szukam drzewa lepszych wiadomości.

Two tweets from experimental psychologist Akiyoshi Kitaoka:

Arachnid on reptile amphibian [ 🙂 GCM]action from my colleague Amanda Bamford:

Fabulous 3-D printed fly:

I am listening to this right now. Very atmospheric/restful. You can sculpt your own soundscape…

Dawkins gonna be Dawkins. As somebody replied – I hope he tipped.

Saturday: Hili Dialogue

June 27, 2015 • 4:53 am

Good morning, Grania here. Jerry has just headed off on the first leg of his Odyssey (also in search of coffee). He should be checking in daily to let us know where he is and what he is up to.

In Dobrzyn today, Hili and Andrzej have a discussion about religious feeling; but I think that Hili may not have come off best in the exchange.

Hili: Dogs have a sort of religious attitude toward sticks.
A: You could run a bit as well.
Hili: God forbid.

In Polish:

Hili: Psy mają jakiś religijny stosunek do patyków.
Ja: Też mogłabyś trochę pobiegać.
Hili: Niech Bóg broni.

And a lagniappe proving Hili to be a cat of Deep Thoughts:

Hili: School year has ended. Somebody has to eat these flowers.

Saturday: Hili Dialogue

December 20, 2014 • 5:06 am

Good morning, and Happy Saturday to you.

If you still have gifts to buy, now is probably the time to get out there and do it, (oh, the horror!) but right now you can make yourself a cup of tea or a pot of coffee and consider the plaint of Hili, who is less philosophical today and has assumed the role of food critic.

Hili: I could drink some milk but I think that something is lacking on this table.
A: Sausage or ham?

In Polish:

Hili: Mleka mogę się napić, ale mam wrażenie, że czegoś brakuje na tym stole.
Ja: Kiełbasa czy szynka?

Monday: Hili dialogue

December 15, 2014 • 4:51 am

Good morning, and happy Monday! Today there is a special Hili dialogue accompanied by this note from Malgorzata:

“In Poland, there is special cause for celebration today. The website “Listy” was born 15 December 2013, and on that day Hili became its official Editor-in-Chief. Today, then, is the first anniversary of the site, and she is very proud of her work.”

And from one rationalist website to another, WEIT congratulates Hili and her staff of Andrzej and Małgorzata (as always, the humans put in all the real effort) on their hard work creating and maintaining Poland’s #1 website for rationalism, secularism, and science appreciation.

A: This is the first birthday of “Listy”.
Hili: I have a feeling I’ve done a helluva job!

In Polish:

Ja: Listy mają pierwsze urodziny.
Hili: Mam wrażenie, że zrobiłam kawał dobrej roboty.
