I have often thought that the Catholic Church must be the wealthiest organisation in the world. I googled around a bit to try and see if I could confirm or refute the hypothesis, but didn’t get far, as it is very difficult to assess how much wealth the church actually has. (E.g., in addition to its great wealth, it also has huge liabilites, such as thousands of aging buildings, such as churches, that must either be renovated, demolished or sold off.) It is also, of course, very secretive. In any case, it must belong to the wealthiest.
Very clever cartoon!
The usual problem with irony meters is that the gain is set too high. Look on the back. There should be a small screw marked WTF. Turn that all the way to the right, which is zero, then slowly turn left until the phrase ‘the Pope warns about superstition’ just makes the needle twitch.
