  1. I miss my Ceiling Cat! Hey Jerry (or anyone). My little ceiling cat icon (in my list of favorite URLs) has been replaced by a blank white square. Is it just me? Does anyone know how I can get it back?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    1. @Bob Larys, did you give a different email address than usual? Or has something changed with your Gravatar account? The icons/avatars that WP shows are keyed to email address, and will either come from a service/site like Gravatar or be generated on the WP blog/site server as those symmetry layouts of little wedges …

    2. It sounds like you mean the favicon, which currently is a small white square. This is part of the website configuration, and Jerry’s admin would be the one to make any changes.

According to the Wayback Machine (now back up after the DDOS attack) it used to refer to a gravatar, which is still there:
      https://secure.gravatar.com/blavatar/275a941f238847ec6ac2ac1812b88f9f?s=16
(Remove the “s=16” for a larger version. PCC(E)’s current gravatar, nearly identical, is at a different URL.)

Apparently that reference was replaced by the blank square in November of 2020! When did you last see it in your list of bookmarks/favorites?

    3. I had a problem on another site where things suddenly didn’t appear to be acting properly.

Then I noticed by email address was wrong: somehow it now ended “comp” instead of “com”.

I fixed and everything was back to normal in further comments.

      1. Thanks for the replies, everyone. It is a favicon – I learned something! No luck yet, but I’ll keep looking. – Bob

    1. We are getting close to the end of week away. May be heading to airport to return Chicago or may be out and about getting new copy for posting in Utah. In any case as he says: “I do my best”. And Remember that he is an hour or two west of usual chicago time zone.

        1. Late (friday morning U.S. east coast) update. Jerry is alive and well, Rik. Exchanged email with him last night.

  2. How can one refuse a request from such a gorgeous cat? I’m betting the control group gets the same results.
