The Boss will soon be on his way back to put a bit of order in things here, beginning next week. In the meantime, Hili has a different perception of time:

Hili: Przesadzasz, jestem tu dopiero od dwóch godzin.

Lovely amazonian jaguars:
Science communication…did you know that there is a population of aquatic jaguars in the Brazilian Pantanal living at extraordinarily high density, eating almost entirely fish and caiman, and cooperatively fishing? I'll post some videos of them every week or so. pic.twitter.com/4UHPFRnTyR

And finally, a stunning photo from Jupiter:
Just because, here's a real image mosaic of Europa serenely floating in front of its parent planet Jupiter, and co-starring the Great Red Spot and the shadow of the volcanic moon Io.

Voting for science breakthrough of 2019 ends in less than a week :
https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/11/choose-your-2019-breakthrough-year
… I note that the question as posed on the Science Magazine website is not “breakthrough”, but “_your_ breakthrough” – consistent with the recent idea of personalized facts and truth…
Chester the Hamster is fine. A lot of Dad-misses-his-daughter going on 🙂

Hili is always genial. Can somebody give me the URL of the Polish version? I want to send it to a Polish friend in Sweden.
The site is Listy z naszego sadu & the url you want is HERE
“Hili is always genial”? I thought so, too, until I saw the photo of her posted on the 11th https://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2019/11/19/tuesday-hili-dialogue-gooseful-rush-hour-and-a-cold-a-frosty-uk-morning/.
She looks particularly baleful in that photo. I wouldn’t mess with HIli.
Mietek’s looking good.
Pic the other way up & I added Earth for scale. Europa has more water than Earth.

I don’t think there is yet, but it’s in the works
The pesky hog reminded me of a gruesome news item in the paper this morning. A Texas woman was killed right outside her own house by feral hogs!:

Those are actually jaguars from the Pantanal region (central states), a different ecosystem than the Amazon forest (northern states)
