As a colourblind person am I the only one who has almost as much trouble seeing the presumably red circle as the humming bird itself?
Lovely! There’s a Ruby-throated Hummingbird currently defending the nectar feeder that hangs under my patio cover. Yesterday it began raining for the first time in several weeks, and I was so entertained by watching the hummingbird’s antics, while he was enjoying the rain. He was perched in the fig tree near the feeder, and apparently taking the opportunity to have a shower and preen a bit.
As a west coast person who usually doesn’t get to see this until about now, i thought answers were going to be below the fold.
