I think the true beauty and mystery of cats—their status as living sculptures—is best conveyed in black and white photography. Top 13.net has a serious of lovely pictures in its post “The mysterious lives of cats in black & white photographs“. Here are my favorites to end the week:
Black and white cat photos

Some really good photos over there. Black and white is a good look at cats. With all this color it gets forgotten.
+1 Looks amazing except i sometimes think breeding hairless cats is cruel
I call “foul”! None of those are black and white cats!
The exploitation of nudity and emphasis on violence is somewhat onerous, but after that it’s quite a tribute to cats and photography.
Those are very striking. The hairless cat especially, and I did not know they had webbed feet.
It gives a paws for reflection.
I’m a cat lover, but Jeez, those hairless ones are creepy.
and the black cat doing Jaws
❤️🐱👍👏
Cats have so many aesthetic qualities including their lithe sculptural bodies. And their wonderful attitude
As in another wonderful photographic collection in the book “Metal Cats” Its hilarious (it has a picture but click on the “look inside” scroll down 3 pages to see a selection of the photographs full size)

That 5th penultimate photograph shows cats how we fear them. The ultimate predator.
Outstanding photographs.
We = birds, rodents, weasels, lizards, frogs and (my beloved) chameleons. And roaches, crickets etc.n
The two cats together remind me of a (or several) scene(s) from “The Shining”, with the two twins (demons?) in the hallway.
Several times in the last week I’ve seen news of $CLASSIC_BW_FILM$ being “rebooted” to provide a colour version, because some people simply cannot understand watching something in less than full colour.
Their loss.
