Reader Doris Fromage sent this photo, which includes one jumping spider (salticid). Can you spot it? (Enlarge twice in succession for best results.) I’ll post the result at 1 p.m. Chicago time:

Spot the jumping spider!

Found it! Almosdead centre and not the colour I was expecting.
I got this one too, which means it must be easy.
How can I tell? It’s a still picture so the spider isn’t jumping like you said it is. Sheesh!
easiest one yet. tan guy in the middle facing 11:00
Found it before looking here & agree with the above.
Got it. That was a good ‘un. Thanks, Doris, for sending it.
An easy one, at last! Yay, I found it! Slightly left of the middle.
With all those spiky-looking twigs, I was seeing creepy spider legs all over the place. (then the jumper jumped right out at me!)
I had the same problem.
The one in the center is a decoy – while we’re looking at it, the real jumping spider is going creep up from behind and attack!
I found it by following Diana’s answer. I really suck at these.
But, did you find the monkey god/idol? Draw a horizontal line exactly in the middle of the picture. Then look 1/4 of the way in from the right-hand edge. Looks like a monkey idol wearing a crown (to me, at least). Putting the “idol” back in pareidolia!
Fun pic, Doris!
