Sunday: Hili dialogue

April 26, 2015 • 5:27 am

It is Ceiling Cat’s Day, so the weenies will goof off and the rest of us will work. At least it will be sunny instead of chilly and rainy here, as it was yeterday. And meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili contemplates evolutionary history. Does this mean that she’s becoming less solipsistic? I doubt it!

Cyrus: Are you asleep?
Hili: I’m thinking.
Cyrus: What about?
Hili: What did dinosaurs sleep on?

In Polish:
Cyrus: Śpisz?
Hili: Myślę.
Cyrus: O czym?
Hili: Na czym spały dinozaury?

  1. I always like these photos of Hili and Cyrus together on the couch! A hard won friendship.

  2. D*gs like to lie their heads on objects or humans, as Cyrus is doing with the armrest of the sofa. Many people are familiar with the phenomenon of the hundredweight d*g head, usually sporting sad watering eyes and drooling lips, inexorably pressing its way through the top of your thigh while you’re seated at the dinner table. Horses will also lean their heads on each other, on objects, and on humans.

Do cats do this also? I don’t think I typically see cats resting their heads on objects or on their staff. Rubbing their heads against things yes, but not so much leaning or resting.

    1. Do cats do this also?

Absolutely. My biggest challenge during the workday is typically typing with the one hand because Baihu has gone to sleep on the other.

  3. What did dinosaurs sleep on?

I think T-Rex slept the same place the 800-pound gorilla does: wherever she wants.

Today, dinosaurs mostly sleep on tree branches, though.

  4. Interesting how Cyrus occupies exactly one-half of the couch, even though there’s a bit of spare room on Hili’s side.

    1. I bet if Cyrus stretched out, Hili would “discover” she needed more of her half! 🙂
