We’ve reached midweek without a disaster (I hope), and spring is finally here. It’s been spring for a while in Dobrzyn, though, and today Hili has a rather cryptic dialogue. Because it mentioned Chicago, I asked Malgorzata to explain:
This is meant to be cryptic. She is asking about Chicago because one of her favourite people is from Chicago. He shows up rather seldom so she is asking where Chicago is – and it can be on the other side of the world, at the other coast of the ocean or on the other side of imagination.
Could that person be me?
Hili: Where is Chicago?
A: On the other side.
Hili: I thought so.
Hili: Gdzie jest Chicago?
Ja: Po drugiej stronie.
Hili: Tak myślałam.
On the table:
1)Breadsticks w/hats?
2)Cigars?
3)Petrified hot dogs w/sanitary tips?
Those are pins you stick into flat pieces of net framed in a wooden frame. You put your freshly laundered woolen jumper on one, stick those pins upright, place another net over, put another wet jumper etc. This way you can have a few jumpers drying simultaneously without taking too much of your room space.
Your suggestions were much more imaginative than this very mundane reality.
That’s actually a great laundry solution. Thanks for the clarification. 🙂
You need to visit, Jerry. She misses you.
I’ll be there in October, Ceiling Cat willing.
I’m thinking that’s gotta be harvest time for something in Poland…?
b&
In our garden just quince and walnuts are left for October. All the rest is harvested long time before.
Well, a quince pie with a walnut crust may still be worth the transcontinental voyage….

A huge supply of raw cherries will be waiting in the freezer…
Those’re the sour type, right? That you don’t want to eat right off the tree?
b&
Oh, you do want to eat ours even if they are sour cherries! They are scrumptious. It is a special, very dark variety which is absolutely edible both raw, in pies and as preserves.
I am so gonna have to find my way to Eastern Europe one of these days…I’m an absolute sucker for gorging on the harvest as you pick it….
b&
I am going to have cherry pie EVERY DAY because Malgorzata promised to freeze a huge supply, and she’s an awesome baker!
Nothing like cherry pie for breakfast!
Sure…rub it in….
And, for what it’s worth, matzoh meal birthday cake also makes for an awesome breakfast….

Seems like the pictures are of better definition and quality the last few. New camera?
