It’s too damn early! Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili is complaining about the surfeit of mice (which she eats)? Srsly???
Hili: Sisyphean labor, this catching mice in the garden.
A: Why?
Hili: They are like rabbits.
A: So big?
Hili: No, so pious – no contraception.

In Polish:
Hili: Syzyfowa praca z tym łapaniem myszy w ogrodzie.
Ja; Dlaczego?
Hili: One są jak króliki.
Ja: Takie duże?
Hili: Nie, takie pobożne, żadnej antykoncepcji.
Confidentially, I think she is just fishing for praise for all her hard work and giving herself an excuse for all the hours she spends sprawled about on various pieces of furniture.
It must be noted that, with the possible exception of crickets, there’s no healthier food for a cat than fresh free-range rodent.

Maybe a can of fancy feast? My cat would probably do the mouse first.
Cats may like Fancy Feast, but it’s nowhere near as nutritionally complete as an whole mouse, plus it’s got all sorts of stuff that cats don’t need to eat and probably shouldn’t be eating.
And the dry stuff? By definition, it’s lacking in the most important macronutrient cats get from their diet: water….

In that case Chairman Meow must be expected to live to 25 at least. Not a week goes by that I don’t find a pile of rat guts in the back garden. He eats everything but the gastrointestinal tract, and once, the nose.
I briefly toyed with the thought of getting feeder mice (such as snake owners have to feed to the snakes) for Baihu…and then I realized that the commercial frozen raw food (from Nature’s Variety) that I’m feeding him is as far down that rabbit hole as I really need to go.

Hili gets her snark on! I like her inscrutable observations, but this is a side of her personality I’d like to see more of. Bring it, Hili!
