Caturday felid trifecta: Cat armor, camo cats, and Pusheen makes a muffin

Once again, with the help of readers I have scoured the Internet, which is replete with cats, to find just the right ones for today’s selection.

From Kotaku we get some truly stunning cat armor, guaranteed to protect your moggie from other cats, harassing crows, and other sources of annoyance and bites. Wouldn’t your cat look fearsome in this garb?

Etsy shop Schnabuble, maker of many fine human costume pieces, decided our feline friends had gone unarmored long enough. This is their answer to that problem, modeled by the lovely Selani.

There was only one such suit of armor, for $500 and, sadly, it appears to be gone now.

Completely hand-made from durable veg-tan leather, this is no mere costume piece. Your cat will become an unstoppable force for slaughter in this fully articulated suit, shielding him/her from foes while allowing unimpeded movement across the battlefield or living room floor. The imposing torso section features several riveted, articulated plates and a terrifying rack of dorsal spines. Your cat’s hindquarters are sheathed beneath exquisitely arrayed overlapping scales stitched to a soft leather backing, adorned with nickel silver dome rivets.   1. Oh my gods…that armor is awesome! Whichever cat managed to convince the staff to acquire it is a most fortunate cat, indeed.

          Not so much of a concern as those stegosaurs spines pressed against your throat, I would suggest.

          2. My siblings and I used to dress our kittens in dolls clothes when we were kids. One in particular loved it, and would lie like a doll in the pram with her head propped up on a pillow and let us push her around for hours on end. None objected, but we were always gentle and always let them go as soon as they appeared to be getting sick of it.

          3. I remember subjecting our kitty to the doll clothes and mini-pram routine as well;-) What long-suffering kittehs they were!

    Cats already come armored with Laser Eyes™, razor claws, and an attitude.

    1. I’m not entirely clear about what Game of Thrones is (video game franchise?), but, if it doesn’t have cats, it’s entirely worthless.

      Just sayin’.

      1. Isn’t it? (& despite the passage of nearly 540 years!) Medieval Jewish scribes & illuminators typically evinced a high level of skill — which is only to be expected, given the long & deep textual traditions of the Jewish people — but MS Kennicott 1 is impressive even by their standards.

        The image posted above isn’t even among the best in the codex. You can see reproductions (from a facsimile edition produced in conjunction with the Bodleian) of other folia from the same manuscript, & obtain a bit more information about it, here:

    My favorite is Jeff de Boer (www.jeffdeboer.com) – check out the samurai cat armor! He also has mouse armor.
