And so the week begins. What will it bring? Only one thing for sure: a week closer to The Big Nap. But at least Hili is extra cute today!
Hili: Children and scientists are most similar to cats.A: In what way?Hili: Statistically, they are more likely to understand the significance of frivolousness.
In Polish:
Hili: Dzieci i naukowcy są najbardziej podobni do kotów.
Ja: W jakim sensie.
Hili: Statystycznie częściej niż inni rozumieją doniosłość niepowagi.

Pull yourself together!
boom boom!
I just noticed how her nose is two shades of pink… why did I never see that before?!
Me neither! Why we need close-ups!
“a week closer to The Big Nap.”
Or a week longer from The Wimpy Beginnings, if you are in a hurry to Grow Up or develop Nju Skilz.
[Well, maybe not grow … up … like Hili has …]
I’m not sure why, but I believe this may be my favorite Hili photo.
I love it too. 🙂
Please forgive the pedantry but whilst children and scientists (and moggies) may understand ‘frivolousness’, the rest of us are wondering whether this habitat of inventing words is sinister or mere frivolity.
It’s a Hiliism!
Well, as I’ve just heard somebody on the television, an adult person at that, say in all seriousness “I can’t Google-image that in my mind”, frivolousness suddenly doesn’t seem quite so bad. 🙂
Well, I’m a bit confused. As a translator of Hili’s dialogues I try to do my best, but of course, English is my third language. However, the word “frivolousness” is listed as a genuine English word in the Webster’s Dictionary (1959 edition). Did it go out of use and people do not remember it any longer, or is Webster’s wrong?
It’s a legitimate word. “Frivolity” is likely used more commonly, but there’s nothing worng with “frivolousness.”

My mistake, Malgorzata, it is a valid word, though I honestly can’t recall ever seeing or hearing it being used.
To my eyes the word just looks ‘wrong’ somehow, like something I’d expect to come from George W. Bush.
My apologies, Malgorzata, and there’s nothing amiss with your translations. In fact, your written English is better than that of a lot of native speakers’.
And I’ve just noticed that in my original post above, my accursed gadget has done violence to habit.
I’ve always mistrusted Androids!
