Friday: Hili dialogue

March 28, 2014 • 3:10 am

It’s Friday! Which seat will you take?

In today’s Hili dialogue, Hili’s literal and figurative bête noire, the upstairs cat Fitness, makes a rare appearance:

A: Hili, look, Fitness is blooming.
Hili: Do not talk nonsense, black cats do not flower.

In Polish:
Ja: Hili, popatrz, Fitness zakwitł.
Hili: Nie mów takich głupstw, czarne koty nie kwitną.

  1. That is a really TERRIBLE song! 🙂

I never understood how American teenagers could be so rich as to afford cars – sorry – automobiles! Are the insurance costs really low? Does it relate to the fact that you are not allowed to consume alcohol so insurance is cheaper? I suppose fuel costs are much lower though as well…

    1. I think most U.S. parents are happy to add their sprogs to their own family auto policy, partly because driving is seen as a necessary skill and partly because they are eager to have the kids share in driving to the market and such. A lot of parents also help their kids buy cars for the same reasons.
I don’t really know if adding a young driver to a family plan adds a whole lot to the cost, but if the parents have good driving records, and the kid has good school grades, I know that that reduces the premiums.
