  1. Sorry to hear!

We’ll try to scratch up only the least valuable furniture in your absence, and give Hili no more than three pints of cream — four, tops.

  2. Indisposed? Hmmm… given today’s Hili dialogue, have you considered ‘cat scratch fever?’

In my experience, travel is often followed by sickness, since one has being exposed to strange new forms of teeny-tiny life.

  3. Probably too much close contact with students!

“Doctor, I feel like a pair of curtains!”
    “Well then, pull yourself together!”

If we are to talk among ourselves, may I suggest this as some light reading for those who have the time?! (not read them myself but they all look interesting, if a bit technical)

“PhyloSift: phylogenetic analysis of genomes and metagenomes”

Also, a review of Bonner’s recent book Randomness in Evolution by Futuyma

    Or…

Finally what about this non-technical article on Tinbergen, who was of course Richard Dawkins’s mentor

  4. Hope you feel better soon, Jerry.
