Ending the week on a mushy but happy note, here’s a video about Taiwan’s first zoo-born panda being reunited with its mom after a medically-mandated separation. This video has gone viral (I think it’s on HuffPo, too), and if you haven’t seen it already you’re leading a life that’s too free from the Internet.
Mashable gives the data:
Taiwan’s first newborn giant Panda was officially reunited with her mom on August 12 after a month of separation. In a YouTube video posted by the Taipei Zoo, tiny Yuan Zai’s mother cuddles her close for the first time. Their loving embrace is a sight that will weaken even the coldest of hearts.
Yuan Zai has been away from mother Yuan Yuan since her birth on July 6. After suffering an injury only a few days into her life, the little cub was moved to an incubator and required constant monitoring and care. Caretakers reintroduced Yuan Zai and her mother on August 11, but kept the two separate to gauge Yuan Yuan’s reaction. Take a look at footage of their first meeting below.
Awwww….

What? Am I the only one who thinks a panda mom cuddling her newborn baby is cute?

I think it’s cute too!
I also think it sucks to have such crappy paw dexterity because it means the baby has to be picked up by the head a lot.
Not just “picked up by the head.” It’s picked up by having your head shoved down the throat of a (panda) bear and then being picked up by the neck with teeth! That’s the stuff of nightmares….
<shudder />

No! I made me tear up!
I mean it made me…

🙂 I love panda Bears, and seeing this: it’s just too cute! ♥ Their so adorable!!
Absolutely not! Animals are one of the things that makes “life worth living”.
Even though I have dogs, I could watch cat videos all day.
Amazing!
For extreme fun, when the cub gets older, mom and the cub will play-fight. It’s even better in the snow; Pandas go nuts in the snow.
I go on record as to thinking this is cute.
This had to be remedied right away. I watched the video and can confirm that it was very touching.

Showed this on the news but not the entire video.Baby panda sounded like a human baby little bit.
The world is good after all.
