Caturday felid: the source of cat videos

August 20, 2011 • 4:17 am

If you thought that all those popular cat videos, like “Maru,” “surprised kitten,” and “OMG cat” were made by independent cat owners, you’re wrong.  They are the product of Kittywood Studios, a lucrative empire that churns them out by the dozens. This short documentary tells the tail. (Note the Steve Jobs clone at the end.)

  1. I guess this raises some questions:

    1) Does Kittywood have exclusive rights to all images and recordings of cats, in order to protect the integrity of the product? (after all, no one would want to misrepresent cats)

    and

    2) Just how long has Jerry been taking kickbacks for running Caturday as part of Kittywood’s viral marketing strategy?

    😉

    1. Jerry doesn’t take his kickbacks in the form of something as crass as filthy lucre. He gets his kickbacks in the form of Hello Kitty undies, a fresh pair every day.

        1. That is disturbing. Now Puss in Boots have to be careful instead of playful.

    1. I’m especialy disappointed to learn that the ones that aren’t CGI are puppets!

        1. I’m not sure if these comments are made in jest (the written word is not the best conveyor of certain kinds of humor), but the video certainly is.

    1. Easy. It’s that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.

…at least, I’ve yet to come across a better definition….

      Cheers,

  2. I haven’t felt this disillusioned since I found out that Pynchon was not, in fact, Salinger.
