Cute. I wonder how many oranges they had to mutilate before happening across one with the eyes in the right place.
My guess is none since the seeds haven’t been cut. I think the artist placed the eye seeds in the right spots.
Artist? Naaah–that was totally made by a Japanese mama at five in the morning to stick in her kid’s kindergarten o-bento…;-)

I think they’re cut from the back of the head skin and turned up.
Based on this interview with Marilynne Robinson, I find it hard to imagine that her book would be “well worth” the reading.
