One comment on these cute ducklings? After all my stress and heartbreak? (See this morning’s Hili dialogue.)
Just got here again…
Very glad the missing one is found. I hope it’s not injured!
I like the goose-stepper duckling, as well as the other five. They all look self-assured of their importance in the grander scheme of things.
Just getting here now! What cute little gems. Maybe the missing duckling just slept in this morning. Glad they are all accounted for. The goose stepper may march to the beat of his own drum if he was the missing one.
Thank you for this post–the bright spot in my day!
Commented last sentence of Hili comment #4 posted 7:47 am….I was very relieved at update. Where could that little guy have been hiding?
Adorable baby ducks and gorgeous mom!
Happy there are still 6!
Such darling ducklings! May they have long and happy lives.
Congratulations on the birth hatching of your sextuplets!!
I tried to find a greeting-cardesque poem about ducks, but wound up on a page with quotes about ducks instead. I think the quotes are even better:
That’s my gift. I let that negativity roll off me like water off a duck’s back. If it’s not positive, I didn’t hear it. If you can overcome that, fights are easy. – George Foreman
The perils of duck hunting are great – especially for the duck. – Walter Cronkite
I had my first French meal and I never got over it. It was just marvelous. We had oysters and a lovely dry white wine. And then we had one of those lovely scalloped dishes and the lovely, creamery buttery sauce. Then we had a roast duck and I don’t know what else. – Julia Child
When Donald Duck traded his wings for arms, was he trading up or trading down? – Douglas Coupland
Most Texans think Hanukkah is some sort of duck call. – Richard Lewis
Adorable, no doubt.
Please don’t be distressed by the lack of early comments. WEIT is my bedtime reading. And sometimes I skip a night and have to catch up the next night. But eventually I read everything, and comment when so moved.
Congratulations, Duck Dada!
What a relief to have the stray baby return!
Have you seen those lemon-and-chocolate swirl sponge cakes?
That’s why I can’t entirely be trusted around baby ducks. Wanna put ’em in my mouth.
(If you don’t get that, you’re both fundamentally defective as well as morally better than me.)
I am afraid of ducklings. It was proven at the Boston Museum of Science using a test on the way the eye dilates when it sees certain things. Oddly, I am not afraid of wolves or tarantulas.
I think the test might be faulty.
Mom looks like she is posing for the camera. I’m betting she will be your “social influencer” duck, as you, her staff covers her movements to see how she compares to the beloved Honey.
So very happy Lazarus lives.
Very happy to see the babies!
Spring, rhodies and fruit trees in full bloom, longer days with more sun and best of all, baby ducks back at the pond. Though I miss Honey, life is good.
Beautiful!
The new pond too, looks great!
