  1. Yes, disappointing. My wife spotted the ISS, but my space obsessed daughter just missed it. Better luck on Saturday!

  2. Although I don’t like to celebrate anything that Trump can “crow” about (and he will!), I was disappointed that the mission had to be scrubbed today, and hope it comes off well when it’s next scheduled (Saturday at the earliest, I think). I am definitely a “space nut”!

  3. PS–I don’t think it was the Falcon Heavy–it was the Falcon 9 that’s carrying the capsule that’s to dock with the ISS. The Falcon Heavy is the big one that’s made to carry large payloads and go to the Moon.

  4. An article said that the mission was scrubbed because of too much electricity in the air. It was then explained that there wasn’t a lightning storm occurring but there was the risk that the launch itself could have triggered lightning. Interesting.

    1. “electricity in the air” — Not sure I’ve heard that phrase before except as metaphoric idiom.

    2. That is a real risk: when Apollo 12 was launched in wet weather in 1969, the rocket was struck by lightning as it climbed, throwing off some of the spacecraft’s systems and almost ending the mission right away.
