The Daily Mail has no business calling anyone Islamophobic. It is reliably the most racist and prejudiced mainstream paper in the UK.
Technically, they are not. Technically, they are merely reporting somebody else calling a Labour councillor Islamophobic.
However this is the Daily Mail we are talking about. They are probably not telling the full story, so maybe there was extra context involved that makes the incident more egregious.
