Here’s a self portrait of reader David Coxill, whose caption is below:
Here I am in the mid 80s, scanned the slide onto my computer. The camera was set up facing a mirror, I set the self timer going and moved halfway through the long exposure, then scanned it back to front to have the camera the correct way round.
Send in your photo (two max) if you want them featured, and be creative (or use an interesting old photo). Thanks!

When you said mid 80s I thought for a moment, age? Very involved photo but in the end, I think we’ll need a better one for your passport.
Nice use of Photoshop. I kid! That’s a very creative analog photo. I’ve never been a photography instructor, but I’ll give you an “A”.
Cool pic, bro.
Nice concept. I may use it myself one day.
An MX! Nice little camera – I recently sold mine, along with some ME Supers and a bunch of manual Pentax lenses.
I used to be all Pentax as well. I sold it all off except my first K1000 body and 50mm f/2.0 lens (kept just for nostalgia) when I switched to M4/3.
I used to have: Several K1000s, ME Super, MX, LX, manny, many lenses.
My favorites were:
M series 85mm f/2.0 (killer portrait lens)
M series 20mm f/4
A series 20 mm f/2.8
A series 50mm f/1.2
M series 135mm f/3.5
A series 400mmm f/5.6 (with 2X converter)
Very nice self-portrait! In some ways, I do miss film. (But not often and not very much!)
I used to be 100% manual, all the time. I never even used the light meters in my camera. I used two films and I got to where I could judge the light (outdoors!) after much experience.
All KR64 and TX400.
Tri-X: In Microdol-X 3:1 at 75°F, this film gave luscious tones and was not seriously grainy, despite its reputation for such. One of the keys to minimizing the grain was holding all the solutions (developer, stop, and fixer) at 75°F.
Thanks for the nice comments ,yes the Pentax MX was a great all manual camera ,these days i have some Nikon DSLR’s ,spent so much time looking at all the scales, lights and others things it is hard to concentrate on composing the picture .
The lens is a 135mm third party lens made by Hanimex ,also had a 50mm and 28mm prime Pentax lenses ,plus a Tamron 300mm telephoto lens .
I had to sell the lot in early 1988 to get some money so i could go down to London ,couple of years later i bought a second hand MX .
