My favorite biscuit (or “cookie,” as we Yanks call them) is the McVitie’s Dark Chocolate Digestive Biscuit. And imagine my delight when I found this ad for the milk chocolate version (not quite as good, but still superb)!
The best biscuit ad EVER!

And with the Fawlty Towers theme music, yet.
Inspired by the classic rat episode!
The Basil the Rat episode, of course!!! I was wondering why they used the Fawlty Towers music. Brilliant!
I didn’t know that.
That makes this advert over the top.
There is an adorable children’s book series about a puppy who is called Biscuit because this is the first thing his future owner sees when deciding what to call him. Not a kitty, but still very like able. By Rosemary Wells I think.
One doesn’t need to be a Trekkie to be reminded of tribbles 😉
cr
Bit of trivia: the tribbles were created by sf author David Gerrold who also coined the term computer virus.
Tribbles and computer viruses both reproduce asexually and exponentially.
I love the dark chocolate one with a glass of milk. Sometimes simple is the best.
I think the higher levels of theobromine in dark chocolate is deadly to cats and dogs though.
I’d buy these for the kittens.
Also one of my favs as I grew up with them in England. I prefer the milk chocolate variety but they are all good.
So imagine my surprise when I was walking the cookie aisle at a local Korean supermarket with my Korean wife and I spy the familiar packaging colors of McVities! However, upon closer inspection they turned out to be Dr. You’s “Diget” biscuits! They had clearly ripped off the packaging design from McVities so I bought them. To my recollection, they are pretty close to the real thing and much less expensive than buying McVities online or at the local British shop. I highly recommend them.
Don’t know those biscuits/cookies, but as an advert it is nearly surrealistic. Great! Who said publicity is not a form of art?
Yes the plain chocolate digestive is good, but the king of biscuits is the plain chocolate hobnob.
Have milk chocolate digestives really only just reached the USA? I remember eating them as a kid in the UK in the 1950s!
There’s another dark chocolate Biscuit that is even better, and that’s saying something, they are made for M&S and they are called;
M&S Extremely Chocolatey Dark Chocolate Ginger Biscuits.
