The world’s worst sheepdog

Something has gone badly wrong here. Meet Nelson, who has things arse-backwards.

Watch this very short video soon, as copies are being removed from YouTube:

Surprisingly, there are about a half dozen contenders for the Worst Sheepdog Award, but I give this one the blue ribbon.

    …covfefe…?

    1. The Twitter warnings were a sign. The Thought Police came for Jerry mid-post.

    1. I was thinking that this could work. If you want to get the sheep into a pen, have Nelson run into the pen. If you want the sheep to stand still, let them catch Nelson.

  2. I raised Border Collies for 25 years. My dogs were pedigreed and registered.

Except for structural faults, or genetic faults like progressive retinal atrophy, the one fault that made a dog unregisterable was being all white. The sheep don’t recognize it as a dog; they think it’s another sheep.

If you recall the Walt Disney dog Jake, he was all white with a black patch on one eye. He could not be registered because of that.

    1. I always figured it was the behavior that made the sheepdog. Collies move in and out of a stalking crouch, heelers go in for a nip. That makes the sheep think WOLF.

But all I know I learned from the movie Babe, which suggests that Nelson could improve his skills by learning the sheep password.

  3. Hehe.. This just made my day. I lost my best friend a German Short Haired Pointer several months ago and so far no luck in finding a replacement. Lots puppies around, but we want a mature dog this time…Good laugh here.

    1. Try breed rescue groups! Almost all of their dogs are adults or seniors, and they usually live in foster homes so they know a lot about the dog’s temperament and training.

  4. At one point Nelson glances over his shoulder at a bunch charging, and I sense a bit of panic in his manor. I’m sure they would do nothing if they caught him. What could they do? But he doesn’t know that.

  5. Looks like the sheep are just following their herding instinct. They must be very confused at all this running around
