My squirrels have waxed plump and fluffy over the winter on their diet of seeds, nuts, and pecans. Now it’s clearly time for them to build their nests before the breeding season. This one was attracted to my breakfast buffet, but dropped the leaves (temporarily) on the windowsill to have a peanut or two:

In the unlikely event I ever got to visit Jerry, the first thing I’d want to do is have a turn feeding the squirrels!
Just this morning noticed a squirrel outside my upstairs office window scurrying back and forth to her nest with leaves. Wouldn’t have seen this had my cat Fiddle not alerted me to it by making her squirrel noises, which are very distinct from her crow noises or her neighbor cat noises. For an indoor cat she has an extensive vocabulary–she could give nature tours!
